A Hockey Themed Blanket

Recently my great-nephew turned two!

He is a nut about hockey, but also has quite a fondness

for his blankies.  So I thought, what better way to give him

a meaningful gift than to tie his two favourite things together?

I started by finding hockey images on free clipart sites that

could be easily turned into patterns. Like this one:

Which using felt and a real skate lace, became this skate block on the blanket.

The blanket has 9 blocks with different hockey images in each.

Including Lord Stanley!

With skate lace embellishments at the corners.

And cuddly charcoal gray fleece on the back. It's a winner!

Work Shirt Alteration

Reaching and lifting at work is much more comfortable when your work shirt

doesn't ride up! To solve that problem, my client orders Mens' Small work shirts

rather than a ladies shirt, which is cut much shorter. 

The problem with this is an unflattering fit for a woman's figure.

After removing the sleeves, the sides were tapered.  Then the sleeve alteration

was completed: shortened, narrowed and hemmed!

And now here is the feminine looking, longer, work shirt.

This Manager can work in comfort and style. :)

Ladies' Blazer Alteration at Log Cabin Sewing Studio

I recently had a client who needed a ladies' lined wool blazer altered. 

It was about 2 sizes too large across the shoulders,

and too wide through the waist area.  Also, It was originally

a Ladies Auxillary blazer.

Taken in one inch each side at the shoulder.

Then tapered an inch each side through the waist.

And finally new buttons and a Legion Associate crest to

 make it a fitted Legion blazer.

Alterations - Work Gloves

These work glove liners were so wide, they were

 never going to fit into hubby's leather work gloves.

A simple trim for a nice fit!

A Hole in the Seat!

Log Cabin Sewing Studio recently had a request to repair this pair of jeans. 

A patch on the inside and some stitched reinforcement will

keep this guy wearing his favourite jeans for awhile longer.



Tapering Leg Flare

This client had new American Eagle jeans,

that were just a little too wide at the bottom.

A little tapering of about an inch, and they're ready to wear.

Stuffies

A little friend of mine just turned two!  I created her favourite characters

 as a gift to her, and she just loved them! 

A little tricky without a pattern, but here they are:

 Toopy, Binoo and Patchy-Patch.
