Ironing Board Cover

I have had the same ironing board cover for over 20 years.

  Needless to say, it was looking pretty hideous!

So I whipped up a new one in the sewing room ... so much nicer!

Tiny Stuffed Valentine's Pins

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I decided to sew up some cute little 

heart pins using recycled clothing.  It's a great feeling to "re-purpose" some old clothing,

especially when it's made with really cool fabric!

Campbellford Dressmaker Hard at Work

This week I was busy in the sewing room with a couple of summery dresses that

 will soon be off to a sunny destination.  My client will look so great

 in these fresh, cool dresses....

 she'll be sizzlin' in the Caribbean!

These days, I've been keeping busy hemming pants - everything from denims to cords to cotton casuals!

Sewing Repairs

Problem:  Broken Zipper

The Fix:  A brand-spanking-new zipper!

Article:  Girls' Jeans

Problem:  Broken fly zipper

The Fix:  New zipper fitted and inserted

Blue Jean Repair

A little sewing repair to extend the life of my son's favourite jeans. 

 Winter has officially arrived in Campbellford, so making these holey-kneed jeans

 into a pair of shorts wasn't an option ... yet!

Welcome 2012, you're going to be a great year!  I'm so excited to see what this year has in store for Log Cabin Sewing Studio.  Armed with lots of fresh ideas, new patterns and fabric and my first "alteration" job of the year, I'll be heading back into the sewing room tomorrow morning after a wonderful holiday break.  Happy 2012!
