Camouflage Formal Wear

I had a special request from a sweet girl and her guy
for their prom this spring.  Being an outdoorsy couple,
the theme of their outfit was to be camo.  First, she gave me
a photo of a dress she loved and asked me to replicate it.

First, a short strapless camo dress.

Which was topped with a tulle overskirt, with an
orange satin waistband and blingy buckle.

And the finished ensemble was a unique combination of
the outdoors and the feminine.

And for him, a camouflage vest, with solid tan lining.

And the back, with strap and buckle.

Sewing for a Baby Boy

Our family has a new baby boy on his way,
so I recently made him some things for his Mommy's
baby shower.

A crib sized rag quilt done in blues and browns, with
guitar print flannel to match the music themed nursery.

With some flannel scraps I made a few burp cloths.

And two bibs.  One regular bib and one with a soother strap.
Perfect for a drooly baby!

18" Doll Clothes

With so many 18" dolls on the market today, I thought it would be fun
to make some clothes for those girls!  These clothes fit 18" dolls
like these Canadian Fashion Dolls, American Girl, Journey Girls
 and Maplelea Girls.

The best part about this project was that every article
of doll clothing was made from recycled clothes.  I love to
repurpose old things!

New Fabric for Patio Cushion Covers

With the arrival of spring, out come the patio sets!
And sometimes your set is still in great shape, but the
cushions look a little tired.
To save a little money on the cost of recovering these cushions,
we decided to re-use the zippers from the old covers.  Here's my big ol'
dog helping me with the zipper removal:

With a funky turquoise and green print, and some green to go with it,
here are the new cushions on their chairs.
