Kitchen Valances by Log Cabin Sewing Studio

My latest client has what must be my dream kitchen
 - lots and lots of windows!  With blinds to offer privacy and
to block the hot sun, window toppers were needed to dress up the windows
and hide the blinds in their raised positions.

Seven valances in all, one being 130 inches long!

And hung in my client's home...

Rolled Hem for a Sundress

This sundress was about 7 inches too long for my client.

Now it's shortened to just below the knee, with a new rolled hem!

Bridesmaid Dressmaking

My major project in July was to make
two bridesmaid dresses.... both maternity-style!

Bridesmaid LE was very, very close to her due date during the three weeks
I sewed the dresses.  Since her size and shape weren't changing much,
her dress was finished with a zipper down the left side.

Bridesmaid EG was in her seventh month during sewing,
so I finished her dress with button-holed maternity elastic
at the side to allow her room to grow.

Sharp Dressed "Young" Man

My client's young son needed his dress pants altered for
an upcoming family wedding.  Not only did the pants need hemmed,
but with the elastic waist came too much fabric in the hip area.

Log Cabin Sewing Studio tapered the hip by 2 inches on each side,
and shortened the pants with a cuffed hem, just like the original hem.

Now we have a sharp dressed young man!

Bridesmaid Dresses Completed!

I have been so busy working on two maternity bridesmaid dresses,
that I haven't been a very faithful blogger.  As of this past weekend,
the dresses have been finished and delivered.
Stay tuned for pics of these lovely, but tricky dresses!!
