Letting Down a Hem

Year to year, season to season, styles change - whether it be shoe styles
or "where you wear" your pants.  I recently had a client with
three pairs of classic dress pants that suddenly
seemed too short.  These pants needed a hem let-down!

Puppy Softie

This fleece softie is flat enough that it can be used as a pillow.  And so cute, too!

Zebra Bag

I have finally done something I always wanted to do - transfer one of
my photographs onto fabric!  I used this zebra photo I took at the Toronto Zoo
to make a denim bag, and now I can't wait
to transfer more pics onto fabric and find interesting uses for them.

Silk Throw Pillows

Here's my latest creation in the sewing room - a couple of silk throw pillows with
hand sewn dahlia's for embellishment.  A little something for a friend's birthday today!

Too Much "Flare"

Everyone loves to possess flair, that ability to appreciate or make good use of something.
But it was difficult for my client to make good use of these pants
 - with such a wide flare leg, they weren't wearable for her.
Into the sewing room for a "flare reduction", and now they're the perfect width.

These cords were a full twelve inches wide at the bottom!

After the "flare reduction" only 9.5 inches wide!

Second, was a pair of jeans with decorative stitching to preserve:

And tapered by about two inches.

For more of a boot-cut look.

Bowling Shirt Ready for Competition!

This weekend, my 10 year old niece is off to the provincial tournament with her bowling team.  Aunt Tracy helped out by hemming her new pants and sewing the crest and chevron on her team shirt, and I wish her the best of luck in Waterdown!
