Yesterday's Sewing Creations

Yesterday was a busy day in the sewing room!
First, I made a cast sock for a little guy who has a broken foot.
Unfortunately, that means no hockey for awhile,
but he will be right there supporting his team
(the Campbellford Colts, of course) in his cast,
with a cast sock that I designed to look like a hockey sock.

With a double thickness of fleece on the foot for extra arena warmth!
~

Next, I made a Hello Kitty cushion from a picture I found of  this simple, strange little cat.
Purr-fect Christmas gift for my son's new girl, who like most teenagers it seems, loves Hello Kitty!

Then, I was on to some glitzy, sparkly, very pink skirts for a little girls' dress up box.

In my experience with little girls, the more sparkles and glitter the better!

Sweater Repair

This sweater collar was coming apart at the seam along the shoulder.

A few stitches later, the collar is re-attached.

Slippers for Little Ballerinas

First, I made some tutus...

and realized that tutus would be so much more fun if they were worn with ballet slippers!
So I headed into the sewing room to stitch some little ballerina slippers.  These slippers
are made from polar fleece and bits and pieces of recycled clothing.

They are comfy, cozy and cute, too!

Backpack Repairs

It looks like we're really hard on our backpacks here in Campbellford!

This well-loved University of Saskatchewan backpack was completely torn out along the top seam.

Now it's as good as new!

This child's backpack had a broken pocket zipper.

I think Molly is going to be pleased!

Zippers

Two more hoodie sweatshirts with broken zippers needing repair!  One zip simply needed a new slider, the other had a few teeth missing!

Alterations

It's a rare thing to buy a pair of pants and the length is already a perfect fit.  Hemming is just one of the sewing services I can provide to Trent Hills area clients.

Sewing Repairs

My kids are always over-stuffing their backpacks, and that means they take a beating.
The good quality ones can be expensive, but they are worth repairing!

Happy Halloween!

I had a vision this Halloween.  My 8 year old son wanted to dress up as Elvis.  Easy.
So I changed this frumpy old nightgown:

into Elvis' 1970's Aloha Eagle costume, his very famous sequined white jumpsuit

with the hip length cape and American eagle in red, blue and gold gems.

 Look out Campbellford, Elvis Lives!

Halloween Day

Today I stepped out of the sewing room and into the kitchen to make some Halloween treats!
